LOME, Togo (XOL Africa) — Togolese singer-songwriter Senzaa is set to perform at three major cultural festivals across West Africa in 2026, expanding her profile as an independent artist on the regional music scene.
Senzaa, whose real name is Akate H. Mehezaa Sandra, will appear as a featured artist at FIMO228 in Lomé, headline the fifth edition of the Elle Mérite Tout festival in Cotonou, Benin, and perform at the Chant des Linguère International Festival in Lomé.
The Chant des Linguère festival is being held under the high patronage of the Republic of Togo and four United Nations agencies — the Food and Agriculture Organization, UNICEF, UNESCO and the United Nations Development Programme.
The three festival appearances represent one of the busiest international schedules for an independent female artist from Togo in 2026, according to the artist’s representatives.
FIMO228 has previously attracted coverage from international French-language broadcasters including RFI, France 24 and TV5Monde, potentially giving Senzaa additional exposure across francophone Africa and beyond.
Her regional profile received another boost in March when her collaboration with fellow Togolese artist Santrinos Raphaël, “M’gbabidjio,” was selected as the official soundtrack for the TikTok program “House of Challenge.”
Senzaa began her solo career in 2014 after making her first stage appearances in 2007 with the tradi-modern ensemble The Seeds.
She was named Best Female Artist at the 2021 All Music Awards in Togo and received a nomination for Best Musical Revelation of the Year at the 2024 KORA Awards.
Her international performances have also included appearances at the Zénith de Paris – La Villette in France. In 2025, she performed as the opening act for Togolese group Toofan’s 20th-anniversary concert in April and later appeared as a guest performer at an Ivorian singer Josey’s concert in December.
The same year, the National Miss Togo Committee commissioned Senzaa to compose the official single marking the pageant’s 30th anniversary.
Her music spans Afrobeat, Afropop, Afro-soul, Afro-fusion, Afro-zouk and dancehall. She records in French, English, Mina, Ewe and Guin, and her music is available on major streaming platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Boomplay, Audiomack and YouTube Music.
Beyond performing, Senzaa runs Senzaa Holding, an independent company involved in music production, visual creation, event management, artistic consulting and mentoring emerging artists.
Her management said the company provides an independent structure for her creative and business activities at a time when many artists in the region operate under international labels or production companies.
Senzaa has more than 300,000 followers on Facebook, with audiences in Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Cameroon, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada.
Her 2026 festival schedule is expected to strengthen her presence across West Africa while building on a career that has increasingly connected the Togolese music scene with audiences in Europe and other parts of Africa.
