BENGHAZI, Libya (XOL Africa) — Alushibe Holding Group has opened a new headquarters in Benghazi’s Beloun district, saying the 45,000-square-foot building is the first completed project in a planned 7.15 million-square-foot development pipeline across the city.
The headquarters was designed and built by Arcadia Engineering Consultancy, part of Alushibe’s Engineering & Infrastructure division. The company said the building houses more than 70 management staff and includes smart technology, upgraded infrastructure, green spaces, entertainment areas and other on-site amenities.
“For more than 18 years, Alushibe Holding Group has been rooted in Benghazi,” Chairman Ahmed Gadalla said in a statement. “The opening of our headquarters is not only an investment in this city, but also a commitment to partners and clients who work with us around the world.”
Gadalla said the company’s investment is intended to support its expansion and contribute to the local economy.
Alushibe said it employs more than 6,000 people across six divisions and is expanding operations in sectors including consumer goods, retail, industrials, health care, engineering and infrastructure, and services.
The company said its broader development plans for Benghazi include factories, hospitals, shopping malls, mixed-use developments, hotels and entertainment projects.
As part of the headquarters project, Alushibe said it also upgraded streets and sidewalks surrounding the Beloun site to improve accessibility. The group has separately renovated and expanded offices for subsidiaries in Libya and some international locations.
Alushibe Holding Group, which is headquartered in Benghazi and maintains an office in Dubai, said its business activities date to 2008. The company describes itself as a diversified Libyan holding group focused on developing businesses and infrastructure in support of Libya’s economy.
