ABERDEEN, United Kingdom (XOL Africa) — CB&I said Monday its Asset Solutions business has secured a three-year contract worth between $50 million and $100 million to provide operations and maintenance services for a floating production, storage and offloading vessel offshore Côte d’Ivoire.
The contract will make CB&I responsible for the vessel’s safe operation, maintenance, asset integrity management and regulatory compliance, the company said. The customer was not identified.
CB&I said it will take over the asset through a structured transition from the current service provider, with responsibilities including the safe restart and stabilization of operations, life-of-field asset integrity and reliability, and class certification.
The award builds on CB&I’s experience operating FPSO assets in Africa and internationally, the company said. It also pointed to its established presence in Côte d’Ivoire, including an in-country supply chain and efforts to develop local skills and increase local participation.
“Over the last few years we have been accelerating our presence across Africa, building on a 20-year presence in the region and our commitment to bolster the local supply chain and build local workforces,” said Sandy Merson, senior vice president of Asset Operations for CB&I Asset Solutions.
“We look forward to continuing this effort through the provision of safe and efficient production and operations which extend asset life,” Merson said.
CB&I defines a “large” contract as one valued between $50 million and $100 million.
The company’s Asset Solutions business, formerly part of Petrofac, provides operations, management, wells and decommissioning services. CB&I also operates a Storage Solutions business focused on tanks, terminals and storage systems.
CB&I is owned by a consortium of financial investors led by Mason Capital Management LLC.
