PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria (XOL Africa) — Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited has signed a 16-year gas supply agreement with Indorama Fertilizer FZE to provide up to 60 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day from the ANOH Gas Processing Facility, in a move aimed at expanding Nigeria’s industrial base and strengthening food security.
The long-term Gas Sale Agreement will supply as much as 60 million standard cubic feet of gas daily (MMscf/d) to one of Nigeria’s largest fertilizer producers, supporting domestic fertilizer production and advancing the federal government’s Decade of Gas initiative.
Renaissance said the agreement reflects its strategy of unlocking the value of Nigeria’s natural gas resources through partnerships that promote industrialization and economic diversification.
“Supplying natural gas to a major fertiliser producer like Indorama supports a value chain that is critical to agricultural productivity, industrial growth, and national development,” Renaissance Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Tony Attah said.
Attah said the partnership aligns with the company’s goal of creating long-term value for industries and the broader economy by increasing domestic gas utilization.
Under the agreement, the ANOH Gas Processing Facility will provide a reliable supply of natural gas to Indorama Fertilizer over the next 16 years, enabling sustained fertilizer production while supporting Nigeria’s ambition to become a regional industrial and manufacturing hub.
Renaissance said the collaboration would “drive industrialisation, support fertiliser production, strengthen food security, and create lasting economic value.”
“Together, we are delivering the energy that powers industries, enables economic diversification, and supports a more prosperous future for Nigeria and Africa,” the company said in a statement.
The agreement comes as Nigeria intensifies efforts to expand domestic gas utilization, with energy companies investing in infrastructure to supply natural gas for power generation, manufacturing and other industrial applications. The strategy forms part of broader government efforts to reduce reliance on crude oil exports by developing gas-based industries and adding value to the country’s abundant natural gas reserves.
The ANOH Gas Processing Facility is expected to play a key role in supplying gas to domestic industries as Nigeria seeks to position itself as a leading industrial and energy hub in Africa.
