CARLSBAD, California, Nov. 4, 2026 (XOL Africa) — US sports technology company Revelyst has acquired European golf equipment distributor Optimum Golf Technologies, strengthening its presence across Europe, the Middle East and Africa as it seeks to expand its international business in golf simulation, performance analytics and digital sports technology.

In a statement released through Business Wire, Revelyst said the transaction was completed on October 23, with Optimum becoming part of its Revelyst Golf Technology division. The acquired business will be rebranded as Revelyst Golf Technology Europe, although financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition gives Revelyst greater control over the distribution, installation and servicing of its golf technology products across international markets, including Africa, where the company already works through a network of independent distribution partners.

Optimum has served as a key distributor of Revelyst’s Foresight Sports and Bushnell Golf products, supplying golf simulators, performance measurement equipment and related technologies to professional golfers, coaches, equipment fitters and commercial golf facilities.

The transaction forms part of Revelyst’s strategy to build a more integrated international golf technology business, combining hardware, software subscriptions and gaming products under a single operating platform.

Eric Nyman, chief executive of Revelyst, said the acquisition would strengthen the company’s international capabilities and enable it to capture a greater share of revenue generated across the golf technology market.

“Optimum Golf Technologies has built a strong business and developed deep expertise in the golf technology market, making it an excellent fit with our vision to expand more deeply and directly into the healthy European market,” Nyman said.

“Bringing Optimum into our Revelyst Golf Technology platform will strengthen our international capabilities and allow us to capture more of the value created across the golf technology ecosystem.”

The acquisition brings Optimum into a portfolio that includes Foresight Sports, Bushnell Golf, GolfLogix and PinSeeker, brands operating across golf performance measurement, simulation, digital course information and entertainment technology.

Optimum has more than 15 years of experience working with Foresight technology, while its management team brings approximately 25 years of leadership experience in golf simulation, customised installations and related equipment.

Its technical capabilities include simulator manufacturing, bespoke design and installation, as well as equipment servicing and recalibration.

Revelyst expects these capabilities to improve customer support and shorten service turnaround times across international markets.

The company said the acquisition would complement its existing independent distribution network across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, rather than replace those partnerships.

For African golf facilities and equipment distributors, the expanded business could provide access to a more integrated range of performance analysis and simulation products, alongside regional technical support.

Golf simulation technology enables players to practise and analyse their performance using sensors, launch monitors and digital course environments, reducing dependence on traditional outdoor facilities for certain forms of training.

Such technology also offers potential commercial applications for golf academies, hotels, resorts and indoor entertainment venues.

However, Revelyst did not announce any Africa-specific investment, new distribution agreements or planned facilities as part of the transaction.

Jeff Foster, president and general manager of Revelyst Golf Technology, said Optimum’s experience in customised installations and international distribution would support the company’s expansion.

“We see significant opportunity to leverage Optimum’s expertise in custom installation and the EMEA region while continuing to invest in the products, technology and customer experience that differentiate our golf technology brands,” Foster said.

The acquisition will also retain Optimum’s existing management team and employees, providing continuity for customers and distribution partners.

Edward Doling will become sales and marketing director of Revelyst Golf Technology Europe, while Oliver Clark will serve as operations director.

Doling said joining Revelyst would allow the business to expand its relationships with customers and partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Joining Revelyst allows us to build on our strong relationships with customers and partners within Europe, the Middle East and Africa while working more closely with the teams behind the brands we know so well,” he said.

“We see huge potential to grow the business, bring new solutions to golfers and golf facilities, and help Revelyst Golf Technology reach more customers around the world.”

The transaction also reflects a broader shift in the sports equipment industry towards combining physical products with recurring software subscriptions, data analytics and digital entertainment services.

For manufacturers, closer control over distribution and customer support can help improve margins and strengthen relationships with commercial operators that require specialised installation and maintenance services.

For Revelyst, the integration of Optimum provides an established European operating base from which to coordinate international sales and technical support.

The company has not disclosed Optimum’s annual revenue, profitability or the expected financial contribution of the acquisition.

Reed Smith advised Revelyst on the transaction, while Marriott Harrison acted as legal adviser to Optimum and Buzzacott provided financial advisory services.

Revelyst’s wider portfolio includes outdoor and sports equipment brands such as Fox, Bell, Giro, CamelBak, Bushnell and Simms Fishing.

The acquisition reinforces its efforts to develop specialised business platforms around its established brands while expanding its international customer base.

Although the immediate focus is on strengthening Revelyst’s European operations, the inclusion of Africa within Optimum’s existing distribution network provides a potential channel for further expansion into the continent’s golf technology and sports entertainment markets.

The scale of that opportunity will depend on demand from golf facilities, commercial operators and consumers, as well as the availability of local distribution and technical support.
