Amicorp Secures South African Financial Services License to Expand African Operations

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (XOL Africa) — Global corporate services and fund administration firm Amicorp said Thursday it has received authorization from South Africa’s Financial Sector Conduct Authority, a move it described as a key step in its strategy to expand across Africa.

The Category I Financial Services Provider license allows Amicorp Trading (Pty) Ltd. to provide regulated financial services in South Africa through a locally authorized platform.

Amicorp, which was founded in 1992 and operates in more than 40 international markets, provides corporate services, fund administration, private client solutions, cross-border structuring, governance and compliance services.

The company said it selected South Africa as a base because of the country’s established financial sector and regulatory framework. It plans to use the local platform to serve clients in South Africa and selected African markets where regulations permit.

“Africa represents an exciting long-term growth opportunity for Amicorp,” said Craig Lyall, head of fund structuring and solutions at Amicorp.

“In addition, clients increasingly want trusted partners that can help them access international opportunities while operating within strong local regulatory frameworks. Our South African license strengthens our ability to support that demand,” he said.

Amicorp said the regulatory approval follows the completion of the authorization process and represents a milestone in its long-term investment in South Africa. The company has operated internationally for more than three decades but said local approval will enable it to deepen its presence in the country.

The company said it expects growing demand for international investment access, cross-border wealth planning and institutional financial solutions to create long-term opportunities in South Africa and other African markets.

Amicorp said obtaining the license also demonstrates its commitment to meeting South Africa’s regulatory requirements as it builds local relationships and expands its services.

The company said South Africa could play an increasingly important role in attracting international investment into Africa while helping African businesses and investors gain access to global financial opportunities.
