OSHKOSH, Wisconsin (XOL Africa) — Morocco has placed a follow-on order for 50 Heavy Equipment Transporter A1 tractors and 50 heavy-duty trailers from Oshkosh Defense as the North African country continues to strengthen its military logistics and heavy-equipment mobility capabilities.

Oshkosh Defense, an Oshkosh Corporation business, announced the order Monday, Oct. 5. The contract was placed through Optimum Vehicle Logistics LLC, the company’s authorized distributor in Morocco.

The order includes 50 HET A1 tractors and 50 MN573 heavy-duty trailers, which are being designed and manufactured in partnership with Dutch trailer maker Broshuis B.V. It also includes associated spare parts, services and training.

The latest order follows an initial delivery of HET A1 tractors to the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces. Oshkosh said the first tranche is now operational, allowing Moroccan forces to integrate the vehicles into their logistics operations.

The additional order is expected to strengthen Morocco’s ability to transport armored vehicles, reposition military assets and support operations across different theaters.

“Working alongside Optimum Vehicle Logistics, our exclusive distributor in the Kingdom of Morocco, Oshkosh Defense is advancing Morocco’s modernization objectives through the delivery of heavy tactical wheeled vehicles,” said Pat Williams, chief programs officer at Oshkosh Defense.

“This additional order reflects the growing demand for our mission-ready, performance-proven mobility solutions designed to meet evolving requirements quickly and effectively,” Williams said.

The HET A1 is designed to transport heavy armored platforms, including main battle tanks, recovery vehicles and self-propelled artillery.

When paired with the MN573 trailer, the system is designed to provide a heavy transport capability for moving armored vehicles and other military equipment, supporting force sustainment, recovery operations and rapid deployment.

The MN573 is being produced in cooperation with Broshuis, a family-owned Dutch manufacturer specializing in heavy and military transport trailers. The company, founded in 1885, supplies specialized transport equipment to military and commercial customers.

The deal also expands the role of Milwaukee-based Optimum Vehicle Logistics, which distributes U.S.-manufactured wheeled and tracked vehicles, logistics equipment and spare parts to armed forces internationally.

Oshkosh Defense said it has worked with Optimum Vehicle Logistics for more than a decade.

The order comes as Morocco continues to invest in military modernization and logistics infrastructure, including capabilities designed to improve the mobility and sustainment of its armored forces.

Oshkosh Defense is part of Oshkosh Corporation, a U.S. manufacturer of specialized vehicles and equipment whose products are sold in more than 150 countries.
