NAIROBI, Kenya — Early-stage African B2B startups with proven traction are being invited to compete in the Latitude59 Kenya Pitch Competition, with the finalists set to pitch on the main stage of the Latitude59 Kenya Edition in Nairobi on Dec. 4.
The competition, organized as part of the Latitude59 Kenya 2026 event, is seeking startups with a functioning minimum viable product, clear market traction and a core team based in Africa. Participating companies must also be actively fundraising.
“Bringing the region’s most ambitious founders face-to-face with the investors, partners and startups who can move their companies forward” is a central aim of the Nairobi event, according to Latitude59 organizers.
The competition will select 10 startups to pitch live at the event. The selection panel will include business angels, venture capital representatives, startup executives, business mentors and other industry experts.
Each application will be assessed by at least two people during the initial evaluation before the finalists are reviewed by core evaluators and the final 10 are selected, according to the organizers.
The pitch competition offers several prizes and opportunities, including partner awards, investor introductions, pitch training and increased visibility within the Latitude59 ecosystem.
The winning startups will also receive a fast-track opportunity to Latitude59 2027 in Tallinn, Estonia, including a round-trip trip for one founder.
Applications opened Sept. 17 and will close Nov. 2. The organizers plan to announce the top 10 teams Nov. 6, followed by startup workshops and pitch training from Nov. 16-27.
The final pitches will take place Dec. 4 on the Latitude59 main stage in Nairobi.
Startups can apply through the Latitude59 Kenya Pitch Competition application portal.
