NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct. 13, 2026 — KFC is bringing its Kentucky Town promotional experience to Kenya for the first time, combining locally inspired menu items, a limited-edition fashion collection and weekend pop-ups in Nairobi as the fast-food chain looks to deepen its connection with consumers in one of its largest African markets.

Kentucky Town 254 will run from Oct. 20 to Nov. 15, marking the concept’s first rollout in East Africa. The campaign will feature a Kenyan-inspired menu at selected KFC restaurants, apparel created with Nairobi-based fashion house home_254, and interactive events at four shopping malls.

“We didn’t want to bring Kentucky Town to Kenya and simply put a Kenyan name on it. We wanted Kenya to have a say in what Kentucky Town becomes,” said Dorothy Muthoni, chief marketing officer at Kuku Foods East Africa, KFC’s franchisee in Kenya.

“That means food that tastes familiar, fashion that feels like us, and an experience that gives people a reason to come together,” she said.

The limited-time menu includes the Colonel’s Mandazi Burger, Colonel’s Mandazi Pops, Kentucky Choma Burger, Samosa Crunch and Catch These Masala Fries, alongside Birthday Cake and One in a Melon Krushers.

The offering draws on familiar Kenyan flavours, adapting them to KFC’s menu as the company extends the campaign beyond its restaurants into fashion, music and entertainment.

Four weekend pop-ups are scheduled across Nairobi: The Junction Mall from Oct. 23-25, Galleria Shopping Mall from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, The Hub Karen from Nov. 6-8, and Garden City Mall from Nov. 13-15.

Customers who purchase a Kentucky Town meal at a participating KFC restaurant can use their receipts to gain access to the pop-up experiences. Activities will include dance challenges, virtual reality gaming, basketball, photo booths and caricature drawings. The first 100 visitors to the Oct. 23 event will receive a complimentary Samosa Crunch.

Fashion is another central element of the campaign. KFC and home_254 have co-created a limited-edition collection featuring T-shirts, crop tops, varsity jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jorts, shrugs and puffer jackets. Visitors will be able to try on the items at a dedicated styling area and take photographs at an on-site photo spot.

“Everything is designed and made in Kenya and hand-printed locally, so a Kentucky Town piece carries a little bit of home long after the campaign ends,” said Job Brian Jura, founder of home_254.

“That is what the brand stands for, wearable art that lets people carry Kenyan creativity and pride with them,” he said.

Kenyan creators and influencers, including Kendi Q, comedian Mwirigi and Wangari Kairu, will promote the campaign through social media and appearances at the pop-ups.

For KFC, the launch builds on its position in Kenya, which the company identifies as its second-largest African market after South Africa. Kuku Foods East Africa operates 48 KFC restaurants in the country, having opened the first outlet in 2011. The franchisee also operates restaurants in Uganda and Rwanda.

Kentucky Town originated in South Africa and has previously been staged in Namibia and Mauritius. The Kenyan launch expands the campaign into East Africa, adapting the format to local food and design.

“Kentucky Town is all about introducing KFC to new audiences with entertainment, fun, exclusive experiences and merch, and a menu that takes the Original Recipe to new and exciting places,” said Hloni Mohope, chief marketing officer at KFC Africa.

“We know Kenyans love KFC, and this is a wonderful opportunity to thank them for their support. Twende funky!” he said.

Kuku Foods East Africa says 98% of KFC’s supply chain in Kenya is localised, supporting domestic farmers, manufacturers and other businesses.

KFC Africa operates more than 1,500 restaurants across 22 sub-Saharan African countries, according to the company.
